So we at Dinner Murder Mystery highly recommend having your perfect playlist which would include music and songs from the era where your game takes place, and even suspense music if the game is played in the current time (like our Cloak and Data Murder Mystery for example.) Having music helps set the vibe for the whole evening and helps to make your evening a success by being a creative experience for all your guests.

One of our recommendations, which we have realized from experience is that music should not be so loud that it drowns out conversation.  Have you ever been to a party where the music is so loud that you can’t hear what the person next to you is saying?  Well we have and this would be particularly bad for a murder mystery game where people mingle and talk and share secrets.

One option for a playlist is to sign up for Spotify or download their app. Our Spotify Playlist links are totally free and have a series of songs that you, as the host, can play in the background during your party.  We've selected tracks that match the theme of each game and we have done this to help make your evening easier and a success.  However, you are totally free to use your own playlist and we don’t have any affiliation or vested interest in Spotify, but it is a great option. We have found a series of songs on Spotify that we think would go well together for your murder mystery games, and put them together in a playlist!    If you are not a Spotify member you will need to create a free account and our suggested song list will form a "Radio Station" of similar songs that Spotify will play for you.  If you have a premium membership it allows you to listen to songs without any advertisements or interruptions.
